The Civil Guard has arrested this Wednesday the alleged author of the murder of the hotelier Guillermo Castillo, 78, on May 2, at his home in the Rioja town of Cuzcurrita de Río Tirón, a few meters from where he had the business, they have confirmed to EFE sources of the investigation.
The 52-year-old detainee was currently in the Logroño prison for several robberies committed in various municipalities of La Rioja, which he perpetrated while he was in the third degree of prison, as reported by the newspaper La Rioja.
The Civil Guard has transferred him late this Wednesday morning from the prison to the Court of Haro, where the case is being investigated, so that he can give a statement.
Since the body was found, on the morning of May 2, with signs of violence, apparently with stab wounds, investigations have continued into what happened at the home of the hotelier, whose death could have occurred at dawn. during a home robbery.
Until this Wednesday there have been no arrests and the investigations are still open to try to clarify the facts.
The victim was born in Cuzcurrita del Río Tirón, in La Rioja Alta, where he decided to establish his restaurant Bodega Guillermo several decades ago, very popular in northern Spain for its traditional Rioja food.
