Arrested in Azuqueca (Guadalaja) for stealing mobile phones in Madrid nightclubs

The Civil Guard of the Guadalajara Command has arrested a 36-year-old man in Azuqueca de Henares for stealing more than a hundred mobile phones in discos and party rooms in Madrid, many of them belonging to citizens of other countries whose value exceeds 120,000 euros.

Last December, the Civil Guard located 110 mobile phones in a garage in the town of Azuqueca de Henares that had been stolen during the Constitution Bridge.

The terminals were protected by a system to avoid being located via GPS, the Guadalajara Civil Guard reported in a press release.

These mobile phones had been stolen carelessly and sometimes using violence, taking advantage of the crowds of people in discos and party rooms in Madrid.

The Investigation Area of the Civil Guard of Azuqueca de Henares launched operation 'Noely' and identified the user of the parking space where the terminals were found.

After analyzing the complaints presented by the owners, one of them identified the detainee as the person who pushed him inside a nightclub and snatched his phone.

The alleged perpetrator of the events fled to Morocco, where he remained for a few months to avoid arrest, but last Monday the agents learned that he had returned from his country of origin and established a device that managed to locate him when he was circulating through the urban area of Azuqueca de Henares.

At the time of his arrest, two mobile phones were seized, which were listed as stolen, protected with the same system to avoid being located, and one thousand euros in cash.

The total value of the recovered mobile terminals exceeds 120,000 euros and they have been returned to their owners, many of them residents in countries such as Australia, the Philippines, Canada, the USA, France, Italy, England or different parts of Spain.

The Civil Guard has initiated proceedings as the alleged perpetrator of the crimes of robbery with violence and reception.
