The Councilor for Human Resources of Elx, José Navarro (PP), has sent a statement to "flatly deny the information that appeared about me in some media and social networks. I have not committed any act of any sexual nature within the church and I have also filed a complaint in Court (since April 2, 2024) against those who have spread this malicious rumor, which I deny and about which there is no evidence, nor any complaint."
Despite this, the councilor continues asking "forgiveness to my family, my brotherhood, my corporate colleagues and all those who know me for my out of character behavior that day inside the church, where I went with a group of friends and coming from a celebratory dinner, under the influence of alcohol. But in no case did I commit the acts attributed to me."
Navarro affirms that he has "expressed my regret to those responsible for the church and the brotherhood, from which I have withdrawn so as not to tarnish his name."
Finally, the popular mayor states: "I want to completely disassociate myself from the mayor of Elche and the municipal government team, to whom I sincerely apologize. The mayor has disapproved and censored my behavior and asked me to apologize to the mayor. parish priest and brotherhood".
