The Ametller Origen supermarket chain has agreed with the works council on a salary increase and private health insurance for its staff. The company assures that the increase in remuneration is 11%, higher than the sector average, although it includes several concepts. On the other hand, it also points out that it is the only supermarket chain with medical coverage for its entire staff.

Ametller Origen, which currently has 3,700 workers, offers health insurance for all employees with more than six months of service, with access to specialists, diagnostic tests and treatments in an agile and efficient manner. Coverage also includes dental care. The partner and children under 25 years of age also have access to the benefit.

The company committee of the group of centers, attached to the UGT union, pointed out that in the last four years a salary increase for store workers of 20% has been achieved. “Compared to the rest of the Catalan retail companies, Ametller Origen is the one that offers the best salary conditions. This year, we have improved remuneration by more than 11% annually, applying the salary increase agreed in the current agreement, as well as the new agreed bonuses and variables,” explains the president of the Works Committee, Miquel Fernández.
