Amancio Ortega earns another 1,108 million today thanks to Inditex

The founder and first shareholder of Inditex, Amancio Ortega, collects another 1,108.5 million euros this Thursday for the payment of dividends from the textile giant, which brings the remuneration for the year to 2,217 million. The figure exceeds what is received in 2022 by 500 million.

In total, Inditex will reward its shareholders with more than 3,730 million euros this year, after raising the dividend by 29%, to 1.2 euros per share and record figures. It is supported by a historical profit of 4.13 billion euros in 2022, which was 27% higher. In addition to the dividend, Ortega received another 100,000 euros during 2022 as a director of the company.

The payment to shareholders is made up of an ordinary dividend of 0.796 euros and an extraordinary dividend of 0.404 euros per share. The payment is made in two equal payments. The first, of 0.6 euros per share, arrived on May 2, while the second is paid this Thursday.

Sandra Ortega, daughter of the company's founder and second largest shareholder with 5.053% of the shares, will earn a total of around 188.9 million euros in the year, with 94.49 million corresponding to the second payment.

Amancio Ortega will receive the dividend through his companies Pontegadea Inversiones y Partler, which controls 59.294% of the textile group, investing part of the dividends he receives from Inditex in the real estate sector.

Ortega owns the largest Spanish real estate company, focused on the purchase and management of large buildings, with a portfolio of real estate assets mainly made up of office, non-residential buildings, located in the centers of large cities in Spain, the United Kingdom, the United States and Asia. . One of his latest operations has been the purchase of an apartment tower in Chicago for about 200 million euros.
