Alexia Putellas, operated on for problems with her knee

Barcelona player Alexia Putellas underwent a revision arthroscopy on her left knee this Wednesday, to examine the discomfort that the footballer has been experiencing since last November 14 and that has prevented her from playing the last official matches with her team. The player placed herself in the hands of Dr. Joan Carles Monllau, under the supervision of Barça's Medical Services, at the Barcelona Hospital for an operation that did not last more than half an hour. The area has been cleaned and nothing unusual has been seen. "Quick operation and no surprises," the footballer's entourage assures.

From now on, the Barça captain has a recovery ahead of her that will not be as complex as after the first operation. Everything will depend on her feelings, but if everything has gone as desired, the player should stay for about 6 weeks to stop having discomfort and be able to return to the training fields. The Barça entity did not want to give details about the state of the knee and announced that Alexia "is low and his evolution will determine his availability."

Dr. Joan Carles Monllau (Tortosa, 1960) is one of the most recognized traumatologists in the country and an eminence in the field of knees. There are many professional athletes who have put themselves in their hands of sports as different as tennis (Garbiñe Muguruza), paddle tennis (Fernando Belasteguín), indoor soccer (Sergio Lozano) or, of course, soccer, with cases like Filippo Inzaghi, Bojan Krkic or Coutinho. He is also a doctor who is highly trusted by the entity's medical department.
