Xavier Garcia Albiol carried out his first official act yesterday as mayor of Badalona, visiting the Sistrells sports facilities. The mayor of Badalona (Barcelonès Nord) remarked that "this is a symbolic gesture to strengthen the commitment of the new municipal government to reverse the current situation of poor condition of all the sports facilities and that the people of Badalona who want to play sports I can do it properly." The mayor held an informal meeting with leaders of CF Sistrells, a football club founded in 1943, currently with 31 11 and 7 football teams, with nearly 400 athletes.
Xavier Garcia Albiol announced that one of the objectives of the new mandate is "to provide a rapid response to recurring problems such as fixing the showers and making them work or other network repair interventions and other basic elements for the safety and operation of the facilities sports”.
Regarding larger-scale actions, such as the renovation of the grass fields, the mayor made the commitment to "renovate the grass in the fields that are necessary in Badalona next summer, taking advantage of the competition break" .
Xavier Garcia Albiol has advanced that this coming Monday he will announce what the new municipal government will be like and has added that: "having a large majority of 18 councilors will allow us to dedicate ourselves intensely to redirecting the situation in which the city of Badalona finds itself and the City Council itself.
