A total of 21 companies advance to the final phase of the National SME of the Year Award 2023

The companies Diagnostica Longwood S.L., from Zaragoza; Eave Canaria Eléctrica de Energías Renovables y Movilidad S.L., of Santa Cruz de Tenerife; GHI Hornos Industriales S.L.U., of Vizcaya; Meins Consulting S.L., from Salamanca, and Meltio, from Jaén, are the five finalists competing for the National SME of the Year Award 2023, an award organized by Banco Santander and the Spanish Chamber of Commerce.

In addition to the National SME of the Year Award, four second prizes will be awarded. In the Internationalization category the finalists are: Toni Pons S.A. from Girona; Iturcemi S.L. from Asturias; Ecoforest Geotermia S.L. of Pontevedra, and Onix Cerámica S.L. from Castellón. Balantia Energy Solutions will compete in the Innovation and digitalization category

The Accésit for Training and employment will be disputed by Atridel Engineering Development

The jury that will choose the winners will be chaired by the president of the Chamber of Spain, José Luis Bonet, and will include, on behalf of Santander Spain, Ángel Rivera, CEO and Olga Abad, director of Companies and Institutions; the general director of the Chamber of Spain, Inmaculada Riera; Head of the Business Supplement of El País, David Fernández and Juan Cantón, General Director of Prensa Prisa Media; and the president of the SME Commission of the Chamber of Spain, Isabel Puig Ferrer, in her capacity as secretary of the jury.

The SME of the Year Award, organized annually by Banco Santander and the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, recognizes the performance of small and medium-sized Spanish companies, whose activity is essential for the creation of employment and wealth at the local level.

In this seventh edition of this award, 1,740 companies from 50 provinces registered. 52 territorial Chambers of Commerce and 13 Territorial Directorates of Banco Santander and the main newspapers of the Spanish press have participated in its organization.
