A man dies in Granada after falling with an electric scooter that would reach 120 km / hour

He was driving an electric scooter that had been lent to him on Aconcagua street in the capital of Granada when, when taking a curve, he lost control of the vehicle and fell to the ground hitting his head. Despite the fact that the man, in his forties, was treated by the emergency service and transferred to the Virgen de las Nieves Hospital, he died this Thursday due to the injuries caused.

The scooter has been made available to the Local Police, according to police sources, who are going to check its speed limitation since it has two 3,500-watt (w) motors and its technical sheet indicates that it can reach 120 kilometers per hour.

The accident occurred this Wednesday on a road in the Bola de Oro neighborhood, when the victim was driving without a helmet with an electric skateboard that they had lent him. He was evacuated in serious condition to a hospital in the city.

The Local Police, which has conveyed its condolences to family and friends of the deceased young man, has recommended wearing a helmet when using this type of means, although it is not mandatory, as a protective measure.

On the other hand, it is prohibited to drive at more than 25 km/hour with this type of personal mobility vehicle, as well as to use headphones, mobile phones or other devices while driving, as indicated by the General Directorate of Traffic.
