The Mossos d'Esquadra have arrested a 63-year-old man for recording images of naked minors on the beach of Palamós (Girona) through a mini-camera that he carried hidden in his backpack.
According to the Diari de Girona, the arrest occurred on Sunday, August 6, after Catalan police officers noticed an argument between two men on the beach in the Girona town. As they approached, one of them ran away, which alerted the Mossos.
The victims told the agents that the man who had fled was recording his underage grandchildren while they bathed on the beach without their swimsuits. The agents managed to stop the man and when they searched his backpack they found a mini-camera hidden in the zipper. According to the information provided by the Mossos, the chamber was the size of a grain of rice.
They also found a foot for the camera and, upon checking the images, confirmed that they were of naked minors. In the subsequent investigation, more pedophile material was also found in the hotel room where the arrested man was staying.
