The Civil Guard has arrested a violent gang made up of seven people who were engaged in robbing mobile phone stores in groups in cities in Extremadura and Andalusia.

The detainees, who have been imprisoned for these events, are seven men, residing in Madrid, who have numerous records for actions related to crimes against property.

Likewise, it is worth noting that 43 cell phones valued at more than 25,000 euros have been recovered that were stolen from an establishment in the city of Cáceres after the arrest, shortly after committing the assault, on the A-58 highway, near Trujillo. .

The coup for which they were arrested occurred in Cáceres, where the agents received the notice of a robbery in broad daylight of a large group in a mobile phone store.

In this way, five of the seven people carried out the robbery inside the establishment, snatching the exhibitors' cell phones, while a sixth guarded the door and the seventh waited in a van to facilitate the escape.

The Civil Guard mobilized several patrols on duty and one of them managed to identify a suspicious van on the A-58 highway towards Madrid and, near Trujillo, they stopped the vehicle occupied by seven people who could correspond with the authors of the crime. heist.

During the inspection of the van, the agents located a double bottom under the driver's seat with 43 medium and high-range mobile phones. The mobile phones were wrapped in kitchen paper and some of them still had the establishment's security cord, the Civil Guard reported in a press release.

The agents arrested the seven alleged perpetrators and began an investigation to see if they could be related to other robberies in the region. In total, they are accused of two robberies with force in Mérida and Badajoz, two in Zafra, one in Cáceres and another attempt in Almendralejo, in addition to three robberies with violence in Seville.
