In the early hours of this Monday, a fire broke out in the town of Mijas (Málaga), specifically, in the area of Lomas del Flamenco and Los Pedregales, which has forced the evacuation of several homes. The fire was brought under control around 9:00 a.m. on January 1.
As reported by the Andalusian Forest Fire Extinguishing Service, Plan Infoca, two groups of forest firefighters, a fire engine, and troops from Mijas, Fuengirola, Benalmádena, Marbella and Málaga are collaborating to the area.

"We are working on extinguishing a fire that has broken out in the area of Lomas del Flamenco and Los Pedregales. We are proceeding to evacuate the most populated areas. Caution," he said on the social network X la. Mayor of Mijas, Ana Carmen Mata.
Finally, around 9:00 a.m., a new Infoca entry in X reported that the firefighters had been able to control the fire with the intervention of two groups of forest firefighters and 2 fire engines. The entry attaches a video and welcomes the "great news" that represents, he adds, "a better start to the year."
