In the early hours of this Monday, a fire broke out in the town of Mijas (Málaga), specifically, in the area of ​​Lomas del Flamenco and Los Pedregales, which has forced the evacuation of several homes. The fire was brought under control around 9:00 a.m. on January 1.

As reported by the Andalusian Forest Fire Extinguishing Service, Plan Infoca, two groups of forest firefighters, a fire engine, and troops from Mijas, Fuengirola, Benalmádena, Marbella and Málaga are collaborating to the area.

Around 3:00 a.m. this Monday, Plan Infoca indicated on the social network

"We are working on extinguishing a fire that has broken out in the area of ​​Lomas del Flamenco and Los Pedregales. We are proceeding to evacuate the most populated areas. Caution," he said on the social network X la. Mayor of Mijas, Ana Carmen Mata.

Finally, around 9:00 a.m., a new Infoca entry in X reported that the firefighters had been able to control the fire with the intervention of two groups of forest firefighters and 2 fire engines. The entry attaches a video and welcomes the "great news" that represents, he adds, "a better start to the year."
