A fire declared in Cullera affects forest land in the Albufera Natural Park

The Emergency Service of the Generalitat Valenciana has confirmed a forest fire started this afternoon, around 4:00 p.m., in the municipality of Cullera that affects part of the forest land of the Albufera Natural Park. A few minutes ago, the mayor of Cullera, Jordi Mayor, confirmed that some homes near the area are going to be evicted as a precaution.

The start of the fire, around 3:00 p.m., has led to the mobilization of two vehicles from the Valencia Provincial Fire Brigade Consortium, as well as an aerial vehicle that was en route for preventive surveillance, as well as an environmental agent.

The work has been joined, as shared by the 112 Service account on its social networks, by another aerial means in addition to three units of the Fire Service and Forest Fire Department of the Generalitat Valenciana and two fire engines.

The Valencia Provincial Firefighters Consortium received the notice at 3:43 p.m. and, in total, two crews from Gandia have been mobilized with their sergeant, a crew from Cullera, the Ontinyent park manager, the Forest Brigades of the Consortium , the forest coordinator and forest and air firefighters of the Generalitat Valenciana.

The mayor of Cullera, Jordi Mayor, has also shared the news on networks accompanied by a video, where he explains that the fire started in the Bassa de Sant Llorenç, a lagoon located to the south of the Albufera de Valencia, in the vicinity of the Cullera lighthouse.
