The Civil Guard has arrested the man who this Friday ran over four people with a vehicle on a terrace in Alboraia (Valencia), as reported by the armed institute. The driver has tested positive in the alcohol test (0.69 mg/l) and in the drug test, the Municipal Police have indicated.
The accident occurred on Friday, shortly before 10:00 p.m., presumably due to excessive speed, when the car driven by the now detained man collided with another parked vehicle and was projected against a terrace in a pedestrian area on Miguel Monzó Street.
Medical personnel and firefighters from Burjassot, a sergeant from Paterna and an officer on duty were sent to the scene, as detailed by the Fire Consortium.
Upon arrival, the officers did not have to release them since there were no people trapped under the vehicle. Of course, firefighters have cordoned off and secured the area and "eliminated risks" by disconnecting the vehicle's battery.
As a result of the collision, although initially three people were injured, four people were ultimately injured. One of them - a woman - is in serious condition although not life-threatening and the other three - two of them under 12 years old - are slightly injured. All of them have been transferred to the Clinical Hospital of Valencia.
