The remains of a cetacean, presumably a dolphin, appeared today, Wednesday, on Somorrostro beach. Sources from Barcelona City Council have informed EFE that they have received notification of the presence of the corpse of a stranded dolphin around 2:30 p.m. and that municipal staff have proceeded to remove it.
Due to the state of the remains, the mammal had been dead for days and had been dragged by the currents to the Barcelona beach. The causes of the dolphin's death have not been determined at the moment, according to the sources consulted.
In the middle of last October, on a beach in Castelledefels (Barcelona), the body of another dolphin appeared. It was removed by the Rural Agents of the Generalitat days later and the poor condition of the remains made it impossible to determine the causes of its death. .
