A 94-year-old woman died this Sunday night in a fire in an apartment in Mollet del Vallès (Vallès Oriental). According to the Generalitat Firefighters, they received notification at 7:58 p.m. that there was a fire in a house on the second floor of a building.
Upon arrival they were able to put out the flames, which were burning in a room, and they found the lifeless body of the victim in an adjoining room.
The other two people in the building, a 72-year-old man and a 65-year-old woman, had previously been able to leave the building and were evacuated to the Mollet hospital in a mild condition after being treated by the Medical Emergency System (SEM). The fire was extinguished at 8:45 p.m.
The Firefighters mobilized eight crews: three water vehicles, a ladder truck, a respiratory equipment van, three command units with the deputy chief of territorial coordination, and the sanitized unit of the Operational Support Group (GROS) with an SEM nurse, who for Their part has moved three units to the scene of the events. During the extinguishing efforts, the Firefighters confined part of the residents of the block, four floors plus an attic, until the fire was out and it was confirmed that the building could be evacuated. At 10:40 p.m., once it was ventilated, the neighbors were able to return.
The Mossos d'Esquadra have taken charge of the investigation of the fire and the relevant judicial work. Members of the Mollet Local Police also worked at the post.
