A 75-year-old pilgrim of American nationality died early this Wednesday afternoon in the Lugo municipality of Portomarín.
According to the information provided by the Lugo Civil Guard Command, the event occurred at 1:09 p.m., when a call to 112 Galicia reported that a pilgrim was unconscious in the area of Castromaior, in the municipality of Portomarín. Specifically, at kilometer point 82.3432.
The emergency services dispatched to the point confirmed the death of the pilgrim, who was traveling accompanied by his wife to complete the Camino de Santiago.
