Agents of the National Police have arrested 31 young people related to violent organized youth groups, of which 18 were related to the Dominican Don't Play (DDP) and the rest to Trinitarios, the two most active violent youth gangs currently in the region, the Higher Police Headquarters of Madrid reported this Tuesday in a press release.

The arrests are the result of eleven operations carried out since last July. All of them were involved in brawls that occurred in different parts of the city of Madrid where the majority of the victims had to be treated for the injuries suffered.

Of the total number of those arrested, 18 were related, either as proven members, in the study phase or through another connection, with the DDP gang and the rest with the Trinitarios. In addition, of the 31 detainees, 17 were adults and the rest were minors.

Among the events clarified is the fight that occurred on October 12 when around 3 in the morning a 22-year-old young man was approached by four people who got off a bus armed with a machete.

In addition to attacking him and causing serious injuries to various parts of his body, they also stole the fanny pack that he was carrying with all his personal effects.

After initiating the corresponding investigation, the Police managed to arrest, a few days later, the four alleged perpetrators of these events, who belonged to the DDP gang, two of them being minors.

Another of the brawls resolved by the agents occurred on July 31 when around midnight an 18-year-old Colombian boy was attacked by three young people who arrived at the Cuatro Caminos roundabout aboard Bicimad bicycles, which they parked in the street. Santa Engracia street station.

After addressing the victim instructing him to make gestures typical of a violent organized youth group, they stabbed him several times in the back and in the area of ​​the collarbone, none of them penetrating.

The boy was conscious and oriented and after being treated at the scene by Samur-Civil Protection paramedics, he was transferred to the San Carlos Clinical Hospital, where he was admitted with a serious prognosis, although there were no fears for his life.

Subsequently, the agents managed to identify and arrest the three alleged perpetrators, two of them minors, who had links to Dominican Don't Play.

The last police operation was carried out on December 13, when National Police agents arrested four young people for their involvement in two attacks that occurred on November 27 and 28.

The first of them took place on Topete Street when, around eleven at night, they attacked a young man with a knife, causing injuries to his knee and head, and he had to take refuge in a nearby bar until midnight. arrival of health services. Subsequent investigations confirmed that the two alleged perpetrators had links to the DDP.

The next day, and in response to this encounter, on Corredera Alta Street in San Pablo they assaulted a young man and injured him with knives, including a machete, causing an injury to his forearm when he tried to repel the attack.

The agents were able to verify how the two arrested as alleged responsible for these events were related to the rival gang. Among the crimes charged to all of them are membership in a criminal organization, attempted homicide, injuries and robberies with violence.
