25 people arrested in Valencia for falsifying documentation to access the labor market

Agents of the National Police, in collaboration with the General Treasury of Social Security, have arrested 25 people in Valencia for allegedly falsifying documentation related to the application for international protection to access the Spanish labor market.

The investigation began in July 2023 after the Illegal Immigration Networks and Documentary Falsities Unit (UCRIF) of the Provincial Brigade of Immigration and Borders of Valencia became aware that some foreigners could have accessed the Spanish labor market "in a fraudulent", as reported by the National Police in a statement.

Likewise, they have detected that a total of 25 people have provided "manipulated" documentation related to their administrative situation in the national territory and, thanks to the collaboration with the General Treasury of Social Security, they have noted "numerous deficiencies."

The agents have found out that these people altered the date of issuance of the documents, mostly related to the application for international protection, with the purpose of "faking their validity" to obtain the 'red card'. Apparently, another of the practices they carried out was to modify the wording of these public documents to gain access to employment contracts "illicitly."

Due to these events, the National Police has arrested 25 people of South American and African origin as alleged perpetrators of a crime of document falsification. After being brought to justice, they have been released pending their appearance when required to do so.
