10 towns compete to be the capital of rural tourism

One more year -and there are already seven- the accommodation platform Escapadarural.com launches its particular initiative aimed at finding the capital of rural tourism. In other words, seek, with the complicity of travelers, the most attractive town for a getaway away from the big cities. And the truth is that the choice is not easy.

Spain has a real treasure for lovers of this type of tourism. Its geography, culture, history and gastronomy are so diverse and rich that the possibilities when choosing a destination are endless. In this edition, more than two hundred candidacies from peoples from all over the country have been presented, among which a dozen have been selected. Among the requirements: having less than 10,000 inhabitants, having rural accommodation and having enough charm to make the rural traveler fall in love.

The choice of the best one is the responsibility of the travelers, who will be able to vote for their favorite location until April 24 on the organizing website. From them will come the winning municipality of the Capital of Rural Tourism 2023, which will be made public on the 27th of the same month.

In previous editions, the award went to Sigüenza (2017); Ainsa (2018); Santillana del Mar (2019); Potes (2020), Olvera (2021) and Cazorla (2022). Here we present the ten candidate towns this year. What do you think will be the winner?
