The PP will vote in favor of the PSOE proposal to urgently modify the law of 'only yes is yes'

The representatives of the PP will vote tomorrow at the meeting of the Congress Table in favor of the admission to processing of the PSOE initiative to urgently modify the organic law of Comprehensive Guarantee of Sexual Freedom, known as the law of only yes is yes . And they will do so not because "the PP is interested", but because of a "minimum sense of decorum and responsibility" in the face of the social alarm aroused by the continuous trickle of reductions in sentences for those convicted of sexual assaults.

This was announced this afternoon, after the meeting of the party's management committee, the PP campaign spokesman, Borja Sémper, who criticized the PSOE's delay in bringing to the Lower House an initiative "very similar" to the one that the As Sémper has recalled, they already raised the popular issues last December. If it had been done then, "tomorrow it would not be necessary to vote urgently," said the Basque politician.

"Everything is slower due to the troubles between Pedro Sánchez and his government," said Sémper, for whom the president has lost "control capacity" over his coalition executive, whom he sees plunged into a "cockfight" after the consequences of a "botched law", promoted by the Ministry of Equality and approved by the Council of Ministers, which is "revictimizing" the women whom it intended to defend, in the opinion of the PP.

This being the case, and although the Minister of the Presidency, Félix Bolaños, nor anyone from the Government have contacted the main opposition force to persuade them of a favorable position in Congress, the PP will put the "general interest" before partisan, as explained by Sémper, and will vote in favor of a modification of the law that serves to put an end to the release of "criminals" from the "decaffeinated penalties" of the law of only yes is yes in its current wording.

Regarding the demonstration in favor of public health this weekend in Madrid, the PP considers that it is an issue that affects the whole of Spain, since the health system is suffering the consequences of the tensions experienced during the long Pandemic, as can be seen, has listed Sémper, in primary care, emergencies and the waiting lists of all the autonomous communities. "Are we going to enter the and you more?", has been asked after mentioning the situation in Euskadi or the Valencian Community, where the PP does not govern.

In this sense, Genoa understands that attributing a uniquely Madrid dimension to the demonstration that filled the center of the Spanish capital on Sunday, due to the health management of the Community, chaired by Isabel Díaz Ayuso, "does not reflect the reality of what it's happening". It is a global problem, insisted the PP spokesman, who also "questions" the Government of Spain, since it is the one who should, according to Sémper, summon more MIR positions to increase the number of doctors.

Far from considering that the health issue is the "Achilles heel" of Ayuso and the PP, Sémper has assured that there were certainly "many people" at the Madrid demonstration who attended the "goodwill", but he has also indicated that there is a "obvious intention" so that these protests are directed "against certain politicians" and not "in favor of the resolution" of a problem that should be approached, in his opinion, "collectively".
