Where in Portland can you buy the Nintendo Switch at midnight on launch day?

Nintendo's newest console is due out this week and navigating who's got stock and who won't is too often a tricky proposition. That's why we reached out to major retailers in the Portland area to find out which stores will have the console.

Although stores such as Best Buy and Target are selling the Switch on launch day, some will only be handing out pre-ordered units on March 3 while others will have some available for walk-ins.

Nintendo's newest machine is a hybrid home/handheld console -- its innards are contained within a tablet-style apparatus with detachable controllers. It can be hooked up to a TV via HDMI.

Pre-orders for the Switch went live at 10 p.m. on Jan. 12. Online reservations at major retailers in the Portland area were sold out within a couple of hours.

Nintendo's Switch launches alongside "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild," the next installment in one of the company's flagship series. The game will also release for the Wii U on Friday.

The Nintendo Switch is priced at $299.99 while most of its games will retain the $59.99 price point that's been standard since the Xbox 360 launched in 2005. Although the machine ships with two Joy-Cons -- tiny controllers that flank the left and right side of the console while it's in handheld mode -- four-player games will require another set.

Those won't be cheap: A pair of extra Joy Cons will run you $79.99. (Or one for $49.99.)

The Nintendo Switch Pro controller will run $69.99 while a charging dock suitable for two Joy Cons will cost $29.99.

Below you'll find the full list of Portland-area retailers that will have the console in stock, whether they'll be opening at 12:01 a.m. on Friday to sell Nintendo's newest hybrid machine and if there will be any stock for walk-in customers.
