Another Haaland brace keeps Manchester City smiling

Between the constant success of Erling Haaland and the talent of Kevin De Bruyne, resolute when his team was in the most trouble, Manchester City found themselves victorious again, against Brighton (3-1), so as not to lose sight of the leadership of the Premier that until now is Arsenal thing.

The defeat at Anfield against Liverpool on the last date took away from the top the team of the Spanish Pep Guardiola, who recovered normalcy thanks to the success of Haaland and who avoided one more setback thanks to De Bruyne. The Norwegian scorer does not give himself a break, who finished the match with one more brace and raises his numbers to seventeen goals in the English competition. He has the record for goals in a first round in the Premier. They are nineteen. He is two when he still has eight left to reach the equator.

After the first part the look of the game was a landslide. Nothing is further from reality. Haaland opened the account in the 22nd minute. A long pass from goalkeeper Ederson left the ball at the Norwegian's feet. Spanish goalkeeper Robert Sánchez failed. He rushed out of it and left Haaland alone, who scored an empty goal.

The second goal was five minutes before the break. A foul inside the area by Lewis Dunk on Bernardo Silva was sanctioned with a penalty after reviewing the VAR. It was released by Haaland, who made it 2-0. The third could have arrived at the beginning of the second half. Riyad Mahrez stood alone against Robert Sánchez and the Spaniard, with one foot, avoided the goal. Immediately afterwards, a ball thrown by the goalkeeper of Spain caused an error in the local defense. The ball reached Solomon March, who gave it to Leandro Trossard and the latter, from outside the area, invented a dry shot that Ederson did not reach.

Tariq Lamptey and Leandro Trossard were able to equalize the match, but the Brazilian goalkeeper in Guardiola's squad was attentive and frustrated every chance.

Roberto De Zerbi's team forgave, but not Manchester City. De Bruyne received a ball from Bernardo Silva and executed a great shot from outside the area that went past Robert Sánchez. The victory stayed at the Etihad.
