Our smartphone is our faithful companion wherever we go, thanks to everything it offers us. Beyond calling by phone, we can communicate through messaging applications, read electronic books or the news, check social networks and many other sources of entertainment thanks to this small but practical device.
For this reason, when we are at the beach, the pool, the river or any other bathing area where we go to relieve the summer heat, our mobile cannot be missing from our backpack. Of course, its use under bright sun is not always possible. If you have an iPhone, the smartphone from the Apple company, you may have noticed that when the sun shines a lot, the light on the screen automatically dims. Why does this happen and how to avoid it?
With high temperatures and exposure to the sun, mobile phones become excessively hot. This heat can harm the operation of the terminal, thus reducing its useful life. For this reason, some devices incorporate certain "emergency protocols" to prevent heat from affecting the phone. It is the case of iPhone.
After all, the light and brightness of the screen also emit heat, which is added to that generated by the device itself due to use and the battery. So when iPhone detects that it's overheating, it automatically dims the screen to protect itself from damage and lower the temperature.
There are a couple of features you can turn off to prevent the light on your iPhone screen from dimming on its own. First, go to Settings, then go to Accessibility and, within this section, select the Screen and text size option. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and turn off Auto Brightness. You will see that below this option it reads the following warning: “Disable automatic brightness could affect the battery life and the performance of the screen in the long term”. Keep this in mind and keep it disabled only when necessary.
Likewise, also in the iPhone Settings, access the Screen and brightness section. Under the button to regulate the brightness of the screen, you can deactivate the True tone option. With this feature enabled, the colors on the screen automatically adapt to different ambient light conditions.
Now, keep in mind that when the iPhone lowers the screen light when it is very hot, it is a kind of defense mechanism for the phone itself. Therefore, if the terminal reaches high temperatures, it is possible that the brightness of the screen will drop even if you have these options disabled. In this case, it is best to put the mobile in the shade and stop using it for a while, until it cools down again.
