The women's team distances itself at the top of world football

The Spanish women's team has established itself at the top of world football. The group led by Montse Tomé, after winning the Nations League against France in La Cartuja, has increased the distance in the FIFA ranking with its closest rival, the England team, which has risen two positions. France remains on the world podium (3rd).

The United States (4th, loses 2 positions) won its continental tournament, but the Stars and Stripes fell from the podium, paying dearly for their setback against Mexico in the group stage (0-2). Germany (5th) rises one place in the ranking, while Brazil (10th) re-enters the top 10, which also includes Sweden (6th), Japan (7th), the Netherlands (8th) and Canada (9th).

Mexico (31st, 4) and Slovenia (41st, 3) make notable rises within the top 50. The best progression is for Solomon Islands (88th), which grows 21 positions after its successes against American Samoa, Fiji and Samoa.

Finally, Iraq (172nd) is the newcomer to the women's world ranking, which with it already has 193 teams. This is a new record that could be broken next June with six new additions who only need one official match to join: Chad, Djibouti, Eritrea, Gibraltar, Libya and Sudan.
