The judge blocks the account of the company from which Piqué negotiated the Super Cup

The judge of the 'Rubiales case' has ordered to block the account of Kosmos Football, the company of former player Gerard Piqué through which commissions were collected for intermediation work between Saudi Arabia and the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) to bring the Super Cup to that country.

This is stated in a car to which La Vanguardia has had access and which is dated this Monday. The instructor thus responds to the request of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office that considers "legally controversial" the amounts set as a commission or success fee of said entity in the contracting of the Super Cup.

The head of the Investigative Court number 4 of Majadahonda has taken this precautionary measure given that the events "could constitute a crime of corruption in business as well as a crime of unfair administration."

The judge recalls that Kosmos Football SL appears in the case as being investigated and therefore this precautionary measure can be adopted with respect to the company. The order explains that this case arises precisely from the investigation of the contract signed between the RFEF during the time of Luis Rubiales as president, Kosmos Football, with Piqué as its highest representative, and the Saudi company Sela to bring the football competition to this middle eastern country. The agreement included the collection of three million euros per edition (success bonus) for Piqué's company as a commission.

According to the judge, the agreed amounts as a success bonus have been transferred to the account linked to Kosmos Football. "What is sought with the blocking of the account is that the Sela entity continues to make the corresponding income, as they have been doing until now, but what is prevented is that the Kosmos Football company can use the aforementioned amounts. ".

The resolution explains that the precautionary measure of blocking the account is considered "necessary and essential" in order to guarantee any possible civil liabilities that may arise as a result of this investigation.
