Rubiales announces the construction of a national stadium for 30,000 or 40,000 spectators

The Spanish soccer team could have its own national stadium in the style of Wembley in London for the English or the Stade de France in Saint Denis for the French. The Spanish Football Assembly, meeting this morning in the Ciudad del Fútbol de Las Rozas, unanimously approved a request from the president, Luis Rubiales, in this regard.

Luis Rubiales expressed it this way: "We deserve to have a heritage and we want the Assembly to support us in the idea of building a national stadium for between 30,000 and 40,000 spectators. With land owned by the RFEF. We want to present it at the next Assembly in December. No It is necessary by law, but we want to share this idea with you". No one opposed the proposal.

Rubiales did not specify where the land will be sought and when the works could begin. It is understood that the stadium would be used not only for the Absolute Selection but for all categories. Until now the selection has never had a fixed headquarters. His spirit was itinerant. The next official matches of the national team, in the qualifier for the Eurocup in Germany 2024, are on September 12 at El Sardinero in Santander (against Cyprus) and on October 10 at La Cartuja in Seville (against Scotland).

The Assembly also approved the accounts presented by the Board of Directors chaired by Rubiales. It also approved the formation of the two groups of the First Federation and the five of the Second Federation, as well as the statutory modifications required by the new sports law.
