Piqué, in RAC1: "Negreira? It's scary that someone says that we won because of the referees"

Gerard Piqué, businessman and former FC Barcelona footballer, stopped by the RAC1 microphones this Wednesday to review current events with Jordi Basté. As expected, the current situation of the Barça club has focused the conversation.

Starting with the most recent, Piqué has admitted that he was not able to follow Barça's defeat against Shakhtar in the Champions League on television but has shown his full confidence in Xavi. "You have to be patient with the project. Xavi knows the house and has mastered the game model. I don't see anyone better than Xavi to take this forward," he reaffirmed.

The former Barcelona defender has let it slip that he does not interfere too much in the current situation of the first team. "I have not spoken with , has revealed.

Piqué has not hesitated, as he never does, when assessing the Negreira case. "It's scary that someone says that we won because of the referees. Most of the games we won by a landslide. The narrative is being turned," he denounced.

The now businessman, in charge of the famous Kings League among other projects, has also given his opinion on one of the fashionable terms, sociological Madridismo: "Madrid is the capital. We will always be the ones who are on the side and want to bother" .

With more or less effort, Piqué has always placed himself in the orbit of future presidents of FC Barcelona. At present he still hasn't ruled it out but it is not imminent, in his words: "It is something very sacrificial, if you put it on a scale you always end up losing. You give everything for the good of the club, without any economic benefit, and I think it is "durillo. If it goes wrong the repercussion is very negative, but if the club needed my help, I would be willing to help."

As a good football fan, the former Barça footballer has also joined the wave of Girona, the fashionable team in the EA Sports League. "Girona has a brutal Leicester side. It's complicated, but the same was said about Leicester when they won the Premier. It's a project that has to be admired."

Finally, Piqué has not avoided talking about Real Madrid, his sporting archenemy. "It is a team that does not transmit, but they will be there and will reach the decisive moment of the Champions League," he highlighted. "In Europe they remember Pep's Barça as the best team in recent history. Madrid's last Champions League was a miracle and no one remembers it, they were not superior in any tie, and for them it was just one more," he concluded.
