The Aemet warns of the return of winter weather with the arrival of the storm Juan: this is how it will affect

Winter weather returns to Spain. Storm Juan will sweep the Peninsula from west to east, leaving cloudy skies with practically widespread abundant rainfall, wind, frost and significant accumulations of snow in some points, according to the forecast of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).

For this Friday, persistent and locally heavy rainfall is expected in large areas of the center and southwest quadrant, accompanied by a storm in western Andalusia. They will be less probable and intense in the Cantabrian environment, without being expected in most of Galicia. During the afternoon, they will subside.

In addition, the agency points to the formation of fog and frontal fog in large areas of the Peninsula, especially in the mountains.

Temperatures will drop sharply and across the board, especially in the northern half of the peninsula and the Balearic Islands, with a tendency to drop throughout the day. According to the agency's forecast, the maximum temperatures will occur in the early hours and the minimum temperatures at the end, with frost in the northern half.

The snow level will drop from 1000 meters to 400/700 m in most of the northern half of the peninsula, remaining at 800/1200 meters in the Pyrenees and 1600/1800 m in the southeastern mountains.

Significant accumulations of snow are expected in the Central and Iberian systems, east of the Northern plateau and Pyrenees, without ruling out the rest of the Northern plateau and the middle Ebro. For this reason, the agency has activated the warnings in Catalonia, Community of Madrid , Aragon, Castilla y León, Madrid and La Rioja.

The rest of the communities and in Ceuta and Melilla will also have warnings (yellow or orange), but due to cold, precipitation, coastal phenomena or strong gusts of wind, which could reach 70 kilometers per hour.
