After the passage of the Domingos storm, which has left more than 1,000 incidents in Galicia, overflowing rivers, fallen trees and blocked roads, this Monday there will be a significant drop in temperatures in Spain, according to the forecast of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet). ).

Thermometers will fall across the country. The minimum temperatures will not exceed 15 degrees in any province, except in the Canary Islands. Especially low will be in Cuenca or Burgos where they will not exceed 2 degrees. The maximum temperatures will be well below 20 degrees in most places, only slightly above in Melilla, Murcia or Malaga. In Lugo or León, they will not exceed 10.

The Aemet also expects weak frosts today in the main mountain systems, which will be more intense in the Pyrenees, where they will become strong in the highest areas.

In the extreme northwest of the peninsula, instability is expected to continue with cloudy skies and precipitation affecting Galicia and surrounding areas. The rains will be more intense and frequent in coastal areas, and may become locally persistent in those in the extreme northwest. Showers will also be likely on the Cantabrian coasts, without ruling out storms occasionally accompanied by hail.

In the rest of the Peninsula and in the Balearic Islands, more stable weather is expected, although with abundant cloudiness, mainly of low type in large areas of the northwest quadrant and center of the peninsula, which could leave some weak and scattered rain. In the afternoon, instability is expected to increase in the eastern Pyrenees, with showers that could also affect other areas of northeastern Catalonia.

Regarding the wind, it will blow from the west in the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands, more intense in the northern and eastern thirds and on the coasts, becoming strong with very strong gusts in the northern part of Galicia and the Cantabrian Sea. Specifically, Asturias, Cantabria, A Coruña, Lugo, Pontevedra, Guipúzcoa and Vizcaya will be on orange alert due to coastal phenomena with waves of up to 8 meters and winds of up to 74 kilometers/hour.
