The Aemet confirms that the anticyclone will mark the beginning of February: it will only rain in these areas

The stable weather will continue in most of Spain during the first days of February. High temperatures are expected for the time of year, weak frosts in mountainous areas and some minor rain in the eastern Cantabrian Sea and the Strait area, according to the forecast of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).

In fact, for this Thursday a reinforcement of the anticyclone that has been marking the weather for the last week is expected. Lightly cloudy skies will predominate except in the extreme north of the peninsula, where it will remain cloudy, with the possibility of some light rains, more likely in the eastern Cantabrian Sea and northern Navarra.

There will also be some cloudy intervals, especially at dawn, in the southern half of the Mediterranean coast, with the possibility of some light rain in the Strait.

Morning fogs in areas of Galicia, Ebro basin, southeast, Balearic Islands, and locally persistent on the northern plateau. For this reason, the agency has activated the yellow risk warning in Castilla y León and Galicia, due to poor visibility at about one hundred meters.

In the Canary Islands, haze and mostly sunny skies are expected, and on the peninsula, stable weather with northerly winds in the Cantabrian Sea, north winds in the Ampurdán (Girona) and low cloud cover and some light drizzle in the eastern half of the Cantabrian Sea, as well as in the Narrow.

Regarding temperatures, maximum temperatures are decreasing in the extreme north of the peninsula, increasing in areas of the eastern half, and with few changes in the rest, as are the minimum temperatures. It will be warmer in Santa Cruz de Tenerife (26 degrees), Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (25), Girona (22), Seville (21) and Murcia (20).

No big changes are expected for the rest of the week. Looking ahead, Aemet expects the heat and stable weather to continue, although temperatures will be "more in line with the normal situation for the time of year."
