After a rapprochement between the two political forces that are in government, the PSC, which holds the mayorship with Sònia Viñolas and Malgrat es Mou, the white brand of PDeCat led by Jofre Serret, with the formation Junts per Malgrat led by Carme Ponsa , today the new government pact has materialized.
With the entry of the four councilors from Junts, the municipal government will add twelve councilors, with the five socialists and the three from Malgrat es Mou. Until now, the government was divided into four large areas, which they must now share with the new councilors. In the absence of more details, it is known that Carme Ponsa could hold the Tourism portfolio and be the second deputy mayor.
The mayor, Sònia Viñolas, had started talks with the opposition parties to incorporate one of the formations into the government, prioritizing left-wing forces. The conversations with ERC, which has three councilors, did not bear fruit, as they have done with the four from Junts. In this way, the Republicans will continue in the opposition, along with the councilors of the PP and the CUP, who have a single representative.
