The website of the Ministry of the Interior is down, although it can serve data: consult 'La Vanguardia' for the results of the municipal elections

The website that the Ministry of the Interior has enabled to monitor the results of the municipal elections this Sunday has been down for almost two hours. Although they have been able to provide data - the results can be consulted in La Vanguardia - they have not been visible through the Interior page for a large part of the count. Check here the results of your municipality.

With the ruling on the website of the Ministry of the Interior, what the page https://resultados.locales2023.es/ showed was this, instead of access to the data of the elections that were held this Sunday in more than 8,000 town halls :

After 9:45 p.m., the website of the Ministry of the Interior still did not load data. Instead, you can facilitate them. All the data of the municipal elections can be consulted in La Vanguardia, with a municipality-to-municipality search engine. Interior sources consulted by this newspaper have ruled out that it was a cyberattack. The reason for the incident is due to a "very high peak" of query traffic that the website would not have supported.

Participation in the municipal and regional elections up to 6:00 p.m. was 51.47%, one and a half points more than in 2019. These data throughout the day could be consulted on the aforementioned Interior website. The fall occurred after the closure of the polling stations and after 9:00 p.m., when the first count data was expected to begin to be published.

The scrutiny data can be followed in the Interior application available on mobile phones for the municipal results of 28M. As of 10:20 p.m., the website has returned to normal operation.
