The UCO explains how Zaplana managed the ITV commissions in the shadows

The agents of the Central Operational Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard who investigated the former president of the Generalitat Valenciana and former minister Eduardo Zaplana and his collaborators have described this Wednesday in the trial of the 'Erial case' how he supposedly managed the funds from of the illicit commissions obtained by the privatization of the Valencian ITVs.

As explained by these agents, Zaplana had assets titled by companies established with those funds, had decision-making power over the investments in Spain of these firms and over specific real estate operations, despite not being listed as administrator or responsible in any case.

In a telephone conversation intercepted by Zaplana's confessed front man Joaquín Barceló, the agents learned that he had received an offer for a hotel plot. "But he did not give any response, he said that another partner whom he did not name had to accept it. Then he went to La Fe, where Zaplana was, and there was a new call where he gave his approval to the offer."

The eighth session of the trial of Eduardo Zaplana for alleged "bites" in the awarding of the Valencian ITV and wind farms has begun with the testimony of three UCO agents, who have appeared at the same time as experts, as requested by the prosecutor, but with the opposition of the defenses.
