A Salvador Illa who rolls up his white shirt while appealing to “believe in Catalonia again” and demands “strength to govern.” It is the main message of the spot that the Catalan socialists presented this Thursday with the motto and the new image for this electoral campaign, which clearly shows the aspiration of the PSC in these elections and for which they will have the active involvement of the president of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, who will hold five rallies in Catalonia.

The new image and motto chosen are an evolution of the one used in the pre-campaign, based on the message of “uniting and serving” Catalans. According to the PSC's deputy first secretary of organization and electoral action, Lluïsa Moret, "to unite and serve Catalans it is necessary to win and govern", which is why the party appeals "to all Catalans", with a "cross-cutting view, regardless of what they think, what they feel and the language they speak", to those who offer to "work for Catalonia, for well-being and quality of life", focusing on the management of "health, education, drought, housing, security….”

With the slogan “strength to govern” the PSC demands that voters give it “broad, transversal support, necessary to configure a government that is “strong, stable and supported by a large majority.” In this way, the Catalan socialists appeal to the vote of those who are concerned about the situation of public services, whether they are pro-independence or not. “We will appeal to this broad trust of the Catalans to link this force to govern” because “only with a strong and well-supported government, will we be able to promote the third transformation that Catalonia needs,” Moret explained.

The PSC advertising spot shows scenes related precisely to the improvement of the management of public services. A mother who rolls up her sleeves to deal alone with her children, whom she still has to bathe - a nod to the drought because water comes out of the tap; a teacher who rolls up his sleeves to correct his students' exams, a caretaker who rolls up his sleeves to care for an elderly woman in a primary care center, or a doctor who also rolls up the sleeves of her gown before caring for a patient. patient. “We have lost 10 years but we are not one of those who give up,” explains Illa in the video, in which she places “believing” in Catalonia as the key while the images follow one another.

Along with the new image, the PSC has revealed its main political events of the campaign that opens this Thursday. The Catalan socialists will begin this period led by the President of the Government and Secretary General of the PSOE, Pedro Sánchez, who will focus on this electoral process with five visits to Catalonia in just three weeks, as La Vanguardia already reported.

To begin with, Sánchez will star alongside Illa in a rally in Sabadell with which the Catalan socialists give the starting signal. The election of the co-capital of Vallés Occidental has a clear symbolism, after having achieved the municipal government with an absolute majority thanks to Mayor Marta Farrés in the municipal elections on May 28, and having obtained a wide presence in the region in these elections.

The agenda of these first days of the campaign are full of events in which the PSC also has the participation of the former president of the Government José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, who has become a reference for socialism and a relevant figure in successive appointments with the polls. Zapatero will accompany Illa this Friday at a rally in Lleida and on Saturday in Tarragona. Already on Sunday, the PSC candidate will once again receive the support of Pedro Sánchez in another political event in Santa Coloma de Gramenet, together with the mayor of the city, Núria Parlon.

Sánchez also plans to return to Catalan lands on May 2 to participate alongside Illa in an event in Sant Boi de Llobregat, and on Saturday, May 4, he will return to star in a major event in Montmeló (Vallés Oriental) alongside the PSC candidate. . The PSC will close the campaign on May 10 with another rally with the President of the Government in the Vall d'Hebron.
