Sant Félix raises Vilafrancaal tenth floor

In the first attempt seen this year, and opening space in Vilafranca del Penedès in the dream way, the Castellers de Vilafranca achieved the first construction of ten floors of the season yesterday. Sant Félix saved the greens to complete his 19th 3 of 10 with lining and handcuffs.

The impressive construction rose to the first floor, no doubt, and defended itself with skill and determination despite the fact that the seventh floor was closed. No one has conquered the tenth floor so many times, despite the fact that at the Sant Fèlix exhibition those from Vilafranca had not completed it since 2018.

The well-known Plaça de la Vila in the capital of Alt Penedès vibrated yesterday with enormous constructions. All the gangs gave everything to what is known as the "most castellar square".

Those from Vilafranca continued the brilliant performance by crowning a 4 out of 9 with lining and the needle with which they have a thorn stuck in (yesterday they were very confident, but they have not completed it since July 2017 in Plaça de la Vila de Vilanova and the Geltrú) and also completing, after a dismounted attempt and a lot of tenacity to defend it, the second 7 of 9 with lining in history. It is a monumental construction of extra range and great engineering that the Castellers de Vilafranca achieved for the first and only time until yesterday in the same square on November 1, 2012.

They closed the exhibition by completing a worked pillar 8 with lining and handcuffs (their third of the season). The day before, the Castellers de Vilafranca already exhibited the great potential and power completing simultaneously, and with authority, a 3 and a 4 from 9 with lining.

A very satisfied president of the Vilafranquins, Carles Mata, emphasized to La Vanguardia that the one in Sant Fèlix was a display of "maximums" by all the gangs. A sensational and combative Colla Joves Xiquets de Valls went from less to more (to a lot). In fact, he gave one of the best performances ever. He opened the scoring by completing his 10th 3-of-9 layup of the year (the 200th of his career), which took the pressure off. In the second round they completed, after defending it very well tooth and nail, the colossal 4 out of 9 clean (no lining), known as "total castle". It was the first of the year and his first extra range of the season. They have already completed this superb construction eight times. In the third round they brought 5 out of 9 to square with lining, which they could only crown. The big icing on the cake, after which the euphoria overflowed, was the completion of a very worked pillar of 8 with lining and handcuffs, "sword in handcuffs" that until yesterday those in the red shirt had only completed three times.

La Colla Vella dels Xiquets de Valls went from more to less. He started very strong, completing creditably, after undoing the construction foot initially, the 35th 4 of 9 and lining the pillar since 2002. In the second round, they went for the first 2 of 8 net (no lining) of the year, a sensational construction also of the highest demand that they knew how to defend despite the fact that they only managed to crown it. They cautiously continued to complete a perfect 4 of 9 with liner and closed the performance by completing a defended pillar of 7 with liner.

Minyons de Terrassa opened square by solidly completing an extra range, their second tower of 9 with lining and handcuffs of the year. But they couldn't win back 5 of 9 with lining, which gave them firewood before being crowned after a dismounted attempt. They have not completed it since October 1, 2016. The Egarencs continued their performance by completing insurances 3 and 4 of 9 with lining, and closed the performance with a pillar of 5.
