Legislative initiatives are the wolf's paw in the tale of the seven little goats. They teach the true ideological nature of a Government. So it should not be overlooked that the anointing of Pere Aragonès as a candidate to re-preside over the Generalitat coincides with the presentation in society of the draft text of the trans-Catalan law. Coincidence or not, here are the facts. And also the statements that can be deduced from it. For example this one: Irene Montero and the entire queer theoretical corpus, expelled from the Government of Pedro Sánchez, now lives in the body of Pere Aragonès.
A few days ago public opinion responded unanimously in a favorable way to Pedro Sánchez's announcement to legislate to prevent porn from reaching the screens of children and teenagers with the argument that they are immature people who are not prepared to face depending on what kind of images.
Well, in parallel, the Government of Catalonia turns twelve-year-old children into super-adults with its draft trans law, and demands that the will of the children prevail when they decide that they want to transform their bodies and administrative identities.
If the family does not agree, the Generalitat will propose a mediator. But not to mediate, but to ensure that "the final decision respects the opinion of the minor". The image of a Government kidnapping children from families is no longer a dystopia. In fact, for the parents to oppose some decisions or to adopt the child's point of view will, going back to the law, be an exercise in "family violence" that will authorize the Administration to act. In summary: the effective father of all children in Catalonia will be called, if the law goes ahead, Pere Aragonès.
The text proposed by the Catalan Executive clearly includes all the aspects that already generated debate when the Spanish trans law was processed and approved. In Catalonia it will be possible to compete in sports in the category that each person decides, just by affirming that one is what they say they are because they feel that way. And since we already know how thin-skinned they are when it comes to accepting opinions contrary to or simply critical of their worldview, any statement that gets out of line can justify the setting in motion of the gear of officials, interims and eventual with a thought police vocation to reward an individual and the medium that hosts their reflections with an administrative sanction.
A way to coerce and impose much less guarantees than a criminal procedure, which is how these issues should be resolved, since we already have a hate crime in the Penal Code. Make it clear that the crime must be proven, and the feeling of offense that everyone can experience individually when faced with words and writings that are not to their liking is of no use for this.
With the trans-Catalan law proposed by Pere Aragonès, Catalonia would enter with honors the era of gagging. And so we begin the pre-campaign.
