Parera regrets supporting the PSC for the alliance with Colau

The mayor of Valents in Barcelona, Eva Parera, starred yesterday in a colloquium lunch at the Círculo Ecuestre in which she explained her program for the municipal elections in May, to which she presents herself as "the Catalan Ayuso" because he considers an "uncomplicated" policy, which puts the city's problems ahead of what is politically correct, regardless of the criticism he receives on social networks for his complaints against illegal occupation, crime or the taxes that small business pays.

For the councilwoman, who was elected in the candidacy of Manuel Valls in 2019 and who four years later goes to the polls with her own party, it was a mistake to leave the management of the commons of Ada Colau the mayor of Barcelona, so that it did not fall to the independenceist Ernest Maragall, of ERC, who obtained more votes.

But if then it was necessary to "get wet" to tip the scales, now his absolute priority is to "get rid of the municipal government", configured, as he described, by a de facto tripartite and integrated by "activists", in order to put true "managers" at the head of the City Council.

Parera reiterated the independence of Valents, as opposed to the "franchises" of the PP and Ciutadans, and claimed his own "freedom", following the slogan exhibited by the president of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, that "it would be from Valents , if she were Catalan", said the councilor to applause.

After the presentation by Antonio Delgado, president of the club, who went over Parera's long political career from his nationalist past as CiU senator to his current constitutionalism, La Vanguardia journalist Joaquín Luna went to barracks and he asked the candidate if she regretted anything.

"I regret having trusted the PSC", he replied, because, he said, he believed that Jaume Collboni "would distance himself from Colau and stay away from the Republicans". In view of what has happened, Parera will ask for "the useful vote against resignation" and hopes that the polls will be overcome by reality: "Our program is not for sale. If people are asking for change, the only possible change is Valents; we've already tried everything else."
