King Juan Carlos plans to return to Sanxenxo again from April 19 to 23

After months of discretion and silence, King Juan Carlos has reactivated the machinery to prepare an imminent trip to Sanxenxo (Pontevedra), where he was last year in a stay that was not free of controversy. The temporary return, which is scheduled for the days between April 19 and 23, would be his second trip to Spain since he went into self-imposed exile in Abu Dhabi in August 2020.

King John Charles has decided to travel to Spain after receiving an invitation from King Charles III of England for a meeting that will take place in London next Tuesday, April 18. King John Charles is also said to be on the guest list for the coronation of Charles III, which will be held on May 6 in London at Westminster Abbey, although he has not yet confirmed his presence, as neither made the kings Felipe and Leticia. It would be after his next stay in London when he would travel directly to Sanxenxo or stop over in Madrid.

At first, King Juan Carlos planned to travel to Sanxenxo between May 19 and 21, but abandoned the idea because these dates coincided with the May 28 election campaign. He decided to delay the trip until June, but apparently the last option is to move it forward to this April. King John Charles wants to get back in touch with his fellow racers, as he plans to attend the 6M World Championship, which will be held in August on the Isle of Wight (England).

In this next trip it will be seen if King Juan Carlos complies with the agreements he agreed with his son, Felipe VI, in the meeting they held in Zarzuela after his failed visit to Sanxenxo last year, where he went undertake to prepare their future stays with discretion and without interfering with the normal functioning of the Crown. On this occasion, however, King Juan Carlos has not communicated to Zarzuela his intention to return.

On Sunday, Joan Carles de Borbó circulated a photo in which he appears next to the infanta Helena and Felip de Marichalar at the door of the Abrahamic Houses, a project with which Abu Dhabi (where the emeritus will continue to reside permanently) wants to launch the image of a tolerant and multicultural emirate. This was his way of reiterating his gratitude to those who protect and support him, when he had already planned to announce his next trip to Spain.

After his stay of almost a year ago in Sanxenxo, which caused a great media impact and some discomfort in Moncloa and Zarzuela, King Juan Carlos joined Kings Felipe and Letícia and Queen Sofia at the funerals of Queen Elizabeth II, which took place in London (England) in September. In January they agreed again, this time on a more familiar plan, at the farewell in Athens of King Constantine of Greece. On that occasion, some images were leaked in which King Felipe said goodbye to his father with a kiss when leaving the Tatoi cemetery.

On February 6, on the occasion of the admission to the French Academy of the Nobel Prize winner Mario Vargas Llosa, King Juan Carlos traveled from Abu Dhabi to Paris, where, in addition, President Emmanuel Macron invited him, together with Vargas Llosa and the writer Javier Cercas, to dinner at the Elysee.
