About 500 people gathered yesterday to support Israel in Plaça Sant Jaume in Barcelona. The call, promoted by the Israel Spain Forum Alliance and the Federation of Young Jews of Spain, was joined by Citizens' deputy in the Parliament Anna Grau and Daniel Sirera, councilor of the PP in the City Council.
Under the slogan "Barcelona for life, with Israel and for the immediate release of the hostages", the Jewish organizations denounced the killing by Hamas and asked that the captured people not act as "human shields" and be released.
Grau expressed sadness at the situation in Israel and criticized that the security forces advised the participants not to carry Israeli flags, and Sirera criticized the "equidistance" of the Barcelona Consistory in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and that it took so long to react against the "barbarism" of Hamas, "which must be defeated".
