Four immigrants die after being thrown into the sea from a pasture in Cadiz

Four migrants died yesterday after being thrown from a pasture into the sea on Camposoto beach, in the municipality of San Fernando, in Cádiz, shortly before 1:30 p.m. The semi-rigid boat in which they were transported, with 23 other people who have managed to be rescued alive, is the same type of vehicle that drug traffickers usually use as a taxi.

The ship's pilots managed to escape from the Civil Guard in this way, and left these migrants to their fate in a rather dangerous area of eddies and currents. With the rough sea, it was difficult for everyone to reach the edge of the beach. It is considered that the fatal victims did not know how to swim, and that they died without having the option of reaching the mainland. It was several citizens who were on the beach at the time who helped the victims and who captured the cruel moment when the human traffickers threw them into the sea.

In the same way, three other migrants who were also thrown onto the seashore at the beach of Sancti Petri, in Chiclana de la Frontera, were hospitalized because they presented a picture of hypothermia. A total of eight Maghreb immigrants, older men, were on the boat, who were treated by medical personnel and the Civil Guard after members of a nautical company acted at first, offering their help and call Emergency 112.

The data was confirmed by the Government Subdelegation, from where it was confirmed that the device is being worked by Maritime Rescue with a boat and helicopter, members of the National Police, as well as the Civil Guard both on land and with the Maritime Service with a boat Members of the Red Cross are also helping by taking care of the rescued.

It is the new modus operandi of criminal organizations that traffic in migrants detected on the coast of Cádiz, although it is not the first time it has happened. Something similar already happened a couple of months ago in Conil, when another narco boat (a semi-rigid 12 meter long one, the navigation of which is prohibited in Spain) approached the shore and went jump several people into the water. The inflatable made a half-turn in a few minutes and was lost deep in the sea, dodging the surveillance boats. In yesterday's events, the skipper even threw some crew members into the water before changing course.

As the Civil Guard pointed out at the end of an operation to dismantle one of these networks, a migrant can pay up to 5,000 euros, although up to 15 people can go on the boat per trip.

In total, there were 35 immigrants who arrived on board the two boats; of which four died, two are admitted to hospital and 29, once treated by the Red Cross, were transferred by the National Police to the Center for Temporary Care of Foreigners in Crinavis, in San Roque.
