Feijóo suggests that the European Union does not share Sánchez's "occurrence" in Israel

The PP does not share the position adopted by the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, during his visit to Israel and Gaza, which has provoked the anger of the Israeli government and the congratulations of Hamas. But this Sunday, the president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, went further and suggested that the European Union is also not comfortable with Sánchez's position, which he calls "an occurrence."

"We have seen a terrorist organization congratulate Mr. Sánchez and his Government," said Feijóo in statements to the media during a walk through the Plaza Mayor in the company of the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, for maintaining a position in which "we do not see ourselves reflected" and that did not consult with anyone "breaking the consensus of previous governments."

For Feijóo, Sánchez's attitude in Israel, which has caused a diplomatic crisis between both countries, "has been an occurrence, a unilateral act by Mr. Sánchez" that in his opinion "it would be good for him to comment on it with the European Union, to see if it is okay, and I can tell you no," he said. For this reason, he asked the President of the Government "to stop making jokes and not create a diplomatic conflict in a context of war", because it makes Spain "a less reliable country, internationally", by carrying out "an eccentric foreign policy". that "does not distinguish between respect for the Palestinian people and condemnation of the terrorist group Hamas, which can never represent a people." In his opinion, "the lack of respect for a country that has been attacked by the terrorist group Hamas makes no sense."

Feijóo will continue to ask Pedro Sánchez for explanations for this, and for now calls on him to say "whether his colleagues in the European Union agree with him or not, and if he is going to break diplomatic relations with Israel, as requested by members of his Government". He also urges that "the entire Government" expressly condemn Hamas terrorism, because there are two ministers who refuse to do so.

In his appearance before the media, Alberto Núñez Feijóo did not reveal any more changes in the leadership of the party, after having explained on Saturday that Cuca Gamarra will continue as general secretary, but not as spokesperson in Congress, but he announced that the changes will take place on Thursday, in a meeting of the executive committee, in which the PP spokespersons in Congress and the Senate will be appointed."

The president of the PP did explain that "I propose to strengthen our leaders and cadres, on Thursday, the 30th, we will already have an expanded executive committee, with new ideas, with new approaches and with people to tear down the walls that the government wants build and establish bridges with citizens, and tell Spaniards that in the face of a Government that divides society, they have an opposition that will be a refuge and speaker for everyone."

He did not want to give any clue as to who will be the spokespersons in Congress and the Senate, and limited himself to saying that he has waited to see how the Government was organized, "and once we are seeing that the Government is building walls, and that "The Government has already said that it is not going to represent all citizens, we will make a team that represents all citizens."
