The president of the PP closed, as a formation with the most seats in Congress, the round of consultations with the King, after which he appeared before the media in Congress, to make his speech more official. Although at that time, shortly after six in the evening, it was still unknown who King Felipe VI had commissioned the formation of the Government, the president of the PP spoke as if he were already a candidate, and thus explained the pillars of what would be his Government: "The defense of the Constitution, the promotion of the State of Autonomies, the preservation of the neutrality of the powers of the state, and having a scrupulous respect for judicial sentences and judicial procedures".
In his appearance in Congress, Alberto Núñez Feijóo stressed that the alternative to his candidacy, "which is four seats away from an absolute majority" would be that of the PSOE, which is, to obtain the investiture "of an amnesty, a self-determination referendum , and make official the inequality of the Spaniards".
Feijóo left, of course, however, what the King decided when commissioning the government, which he will abide by without any qualms, he represents "an alternative that defends the dignity of Spain and the Spanish" against those who want "undermine its unity and fragment the Spain of the autonomies". During his intervention before the media, in Congress, Alberto Núñez Feijóo winked at Vox, which this morning had conditioned its support on the fact that the PP did not participate, neither by action nor by omission, in the "sanitary cordon "which, in Abascal's opinion, the rest of the parties are building around his party.
The president of the PP thanked the support of the Canary Islands Coalition and that of UPN, as well as his "express thanks to Vox", with whom, he said, "we share governments in autonomous communities and town halls", within what he considers "democratic normality" for their support without conditions and to govern alone, and in defense "of a constitutionalist government for Spain", at the same time that he expressed the conviction that "the relationship of collaboration will be maintained".
However, the president of the PP wanted to make it clear that his words had been written before Abascal, with whom he acknowledged that he had spoken, put that condition on Feijóo not to do less than his party.
