Bildu confirms support for Sánchez's investiture: "We will not speculate"

Pedro Sánchez left for the last day of the round of contacts the meeting with the representatives at the Courts of EH Bildu, a delicate appointment more for the image it left than for the content. The photograph of the meeting, as was to be expected, led to the scandals of the PP and Vox, despite the fact that the PSOE avoided entering the controversy. In terms of content, the meeting was most bearable for the Socialists: Bildu confirmed the announced support for Sánchez's investiture to "stop the ultra-right".

Contrary to previous negotiations, this time Sánchez did not avoid the photograph with the leaders of the coalition. Accompanied by the Secretary of Organization of the PSOE, Santos Cerdán, he received the speaker in Congress, Mertxe Aizpurua, and the counterpart in the Senate, Gorka Elejabarrieta. The image was unprecedented, since no president, even if he was in office, nor any leader of the two main parties had met publicly with representatives of the abertzale left. Nevertheless, the historical relationship of meetings between leaders or emissaries of the two main parties with local leaders, even with representatives of ETA when it was still killing, is extensive, so the issue has a limited scope.

Beyond the photograph, which serves Bildu to delve into its normalization as a political actor, the meeting confirmed that the coalition "will not speculate" in the face of the investiture and, at a key moment, made it clear that it does not raise the price of its six supports.
