Ayuso, on the Catalunya operation: “I think it is good that the State protects itself”

The president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, spoke about the Catalunya operation this Wednesday, about which she assured that she agrees with “the State protecting itself.”

“I am not in favor of telling lies or failing to tell the truth,” Ayuso stated, before commenting that he believes “that any normal and coherent State protects itself.” In an interview on Catalunya Ràdio, the Madrid president stressed that a country “protects its institutions” as well as “its interests and sovereignty”, and she added “it protects its borders, something that we do not do”.

Likewise, Ayuso has criticized the coalition that supports the Government, wondering “what the right of Junts has to do with the left of Sumar”, and denouncing that the parties “are transferring votes between each other as appropriate by issue”. in a government that has been described as “taken with a grain of salt.”

In the same sense, the Madrid president has assured that “this compendium of ideas” seems “authoritarian” and “a dictatorship through the back door”, since, in her opinion, the parties “have protected themselves” because “while they “Give them the numbers, they can do whatever they want.”

Regarding the absolute majority of the Executive led by the president, Pedro Sánchez, Ayuso has denounced a “lack of counterweight”, in the face of a Government that, in his opinion, adds “votes from political coalitions that would not even naturally understand each other to remain in power in exchange for everything.”

When asked if she would see herself as President of the Government, Ayuso has emphatically denied it and stressed that "what I would like most in this life is for Alberto Núñez Feijóo to be President of Spain."

Ayuso has also commented on the PSOE's criticism of the president of Castilla La Mancha, Emiliano García-Page; “It cannot be that those people who have governed because they have achieved large majorities, today are despised within their own party,” stressed the Madrid president, also naming the former president of the Community of Madrid Joaquín Leguina and the former president of the Government Felipe Gonzalez.

The president of the Community has assured that it would be a “complete mistake” for the PSOE to dispense with García-Page because, in her opinion, “the socialist party would lose another autonomous community and would only have two left.” To this, Ayuso added “I think it is to make them look at it.”

When asked if she would like the socialist to be part of the PP, Ayuso answered that the two regional presidents “we have each looked at the best for the neighboring regions,” and that what she would like is “for each one to be respected.” as it is from their point of view", and added: "it is what we do in parties where we do not act like sects."
