With no more conditions than those that he himself wants to set, the acting mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, is in the absence of the "final touches" to confirm the structure of his next Executive.
The absolute majority obtained by the PP on 28-M will allow the councilor to form a monocolor team, although it does not seem clear that he will maintain all the areas of Government arranged in the coalition Executive signed with Ciudadanos in the legislature that has already ended.
Almeida "shares" the vision that the president of his party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has about the "need to accommodate the governments to the economic and social reality that we have in Spain" so that the Executives are "exemplary" at the "moment economy that the country is experiencing.
Part of the reflection process in which the acting mayor is imbued with his new Executive has to do with "accommodating the municipal government, and its size, to the situation we have."
After confirming last week that Inmaculada Sanz -currently at the head of the Spokesperson, Security and Emergencies area- will be the deputy mayor of her monocolor government, occupying the post that Begoña Villacís (Citizens) has held for four years, Almeida has insisted this Wednesday in which he continues "reflecting" on the rest of the structure of his future team.
Since the inauguration of the South Summit 2023 event on innovation, it has anticipated questions from the press, however, that it will be an "undoubtedly effective" government, "aware of the challenges that lie ahead" and "agile" in decision-making and in their execution.
"It is going to be a government that is going to be at the service of the people of Madrid. Right now I am considering the structure of the government, looking at the different areas of government, the structure of the general directorates that it has and thinking, of course, about the best people to be able to occupy those areas of Government, as well as the best people for each of the districts, which are also of capital importance in the city of Madrid", the acting councilor has abounded.
