A report warns of €16,874 without justification from Vox in Valencia and asks for it to be returned

The spokesperson for the Municipal Socialist Group in the Valencia City Council, Sandra Gómez, revealed this Friday that the municipal group of Vox (government partners of the PP in the Consistory) “have left 16,874 euros unjustified.” Gómez has pointed out that the Municipal Intervention report “resolves that in general all the seats of the groups are duly accounted for except that of Vox.” In fact, she explained that "not only has she not justified the expenses, as required by law, but those 17,000 euros are at an unknown location," she warned.

"The auditor's report is very clear, there is an obligation to reintegrate and the person who has the capacity and obligation to request that those 17,000 euros from Valencians return to the public coffers is the mayor," added socialist councilor Borja Sanjuán. .

After learning of the PSPV complaint and the content of the auditor's report, the Vox municipal group has reported that the accounting of the previous legislature is being "studied so that, if it is an error, we can justify the expense; and If it is not, clarify the responsibilities derived from that imbalance."

However, the PSPV points to an "alleged case of embezzlement and electoral crime" since, its spokesperson has pointed out, "the period that they should have justified coincides with that of the electoral campaign."

The Comptroller's document passed yesterday through the Finance Commission and this morning through the Board of Spokespersons, since it is a point of the next Plenary Session, which is why Gómez has warned that María José Catalá “is aware of these irregularities” and has explained that she is “ obliged to demand the replacement of public money and to bring it to the attention of the Court of Auditors.”

"But we do not trust that he will act against his government partners, so the socialists are going to inform both the Prosecutor's Office and the Court of Accounts," the socialist leader announced. Along these lines, Gómez has emphasized that “today Catalá has to demand the restitution of public money that has disappeared.” “We don't know what it was spent on nor are they able to prove where the money is,” she denounced.
