Barcelona, Dec 11 (EFE).- The driver and rear passenger of a car, aged 23 and 19, respectively, died when the car in which they were traveling on the N-240 road left the road, at from the municipality of Montblanc (Tarragona), and another occupant has been seriously injured.
As reported this Monday by the Servei Català de Trànsit, the notification of the accident, which occurred at kilometer 32.4 of the N-240, took place at 11:50 p.m. this Sunday.
For reasons that are being investigated, the car left the road and collided with a tree, causing the death of the rear passenger of the vehicle, S.F.A., 19 years old and a resident of Tarragona.
The driver of the car, G.P.C., 23 years old and also a resident of Tarragona, was seriously injured and was taken to the Joan XXIII hospital in this city, where he died this morning.
On the other hand, another woman who was in the front seat of the vehicle suffered serious injuries and was taken to the Bellvitge hospital, in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat (Barcelona).
As a result of the accident, eight patrols of the Mossos d'Esquadra, three units of the Generalitat Fire Department, which carried out release work, and four units of the Medical Emergency System (SEM) were activated.
Regarding the road impact, an alternative passage was enabled at the point of the accident, with one lane closed until 5:45 a.m. this Monday. EFE
