Two arrested for six robberies with force in shops in Santa Coloma de Gramenet

Mossos d'Esquadra from the Santa Coloma de Gramanet police station (Barcelonès Nord) arrested two men, aged 20 and 43, at dawn on February 14, as alleged perpetrators of six robberies committed the same night.

At around 2:30 a.m., a witness reported to 112 that two people were trying to force their way into an establishment on Calle de Irlanda. Upon arriving at the place, the agents verified that in the vicinity of this establishment another had been forced.

While the agents were searching for the thieves, a notice from the Control Room alerted them that two other establishments had been broken into in the direction of the Main Church. In these two cases, they used a manhole cover to break the glass of one of their doors.

A few minutes later, in Sant Jeroni street, a Citizen Security team located two people, who matched the descriptions of the suspects, when they were trying to open a cash register. Given this evidence, the agents arrested them as alleged perpetrators of the robberies.

The detainees are also related to two robberies with more committed the same early morning in two establishments located on Calle Sant Jeroni and Calle Major. In all cases they forced access and, once inside, they stole cash registers or valuables that could be easily taken.

The detainees, who accumulate more than twenty-five records, were brought before the Court of Investigation on duty in Santa Coloma de Gramanet today, who ordered freedom with charges.
