The Mossos investigate six sexual assaults on minors at a Barcelona football club

The Mossos d'Esquadra are investigating a man who allegedly sexually abused several minors in a sports club in Santa Perpètua de Mogoda (Barcelona), according to RAC1. The alleged perpetrator, a former children's soccer coordinator, is a 28-year-old individual who the police reportedly arrested last January after receiving a complaint at that address. The suspect would have been released after declaring and on April 17 the Mossos would have arrested him again for his possible involvement in another similar case. According to the police, he is being investigated for other possible attacks and has already been removed from the club.

The abuses became known at the beginning of the year when a 19-year-old girl reported that she had been abused when she was 10. The alleged attacker was the children's soccer coordinator.

After being arrested and testifying, a second victim denounced him this April for an abuse that would have taken place in December last year, they report in RAC1. The complaint led to a new arrest and the reporting of four more cases.

The detainee took advantage of his position to invite the players, who are over 14 years old, to his house with the excuse of watching games and there he tried and in some cases managed to abuse them.

The city council of the Barcelona town claims to have found out about the alleged abuses this week. The club defends itself by assuring that the new board is from two years ago and that they have "encountered" the case and that they had not reported it because the police had only told them to remove the alleged attacker.

This same week the families belonging to the club have been informed and the city council assures that it is studying to appear as a private prosecution.
